Nero Buys

Pre-season loadout analysis: Nero Buys traded his saw for salt. Among the ten kits in this first international World Championship cast, the Australian army veteran's is the one that leaves the axe working alone on every piece of timber in the Richardson Mountains, and spends the freed slot on an item that does nothing for shelter or fire: preservation and palatability for whatever his bow, snare wire, and fishing line bring in. The remaining slots run standard, sleeping bag, pot, ferro rod, paracord, multitool, all recorded without brands, and the season's gear data so far traces to a single piece of pre-season coverage, so the specifics stay flagged as reported.

Pre-season loadout analysis: The trade reads as a long-game declaration from someone with a specific pedigree: a bushcraft-focused veteran from New South Wales who founded an outdoor youth program and staged his own Canadian test run in 2024 before filming. Salt only pays off if there is surplus food to cure and enough weeks ahead to eat it, so this is a kit betting on abundance and duration, priced in slower wood processing every single day.
