The Alone Season 6 Cast: Where Are They Now

2026-06-23

Spoiler note: this post covers who won Alone Season 6.

Season 6 dropped ten survivalists on the East Arm of Great Slave Lake in Canada's Northwest Territories, roughly 400 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle. It premiered June 6, 2019, carried the standard $500,000 prize, and produced one of the most decisive wins the show has ever seen: Jordan Jonas lasted 77 days and became the first contestant in franchise history to kill a big-game animal. The full breakdown lives on our Season 6 page.

The whole cast, ordered by placement:

Contestant Placement Days Background
Jordan Jonas 1 77 Hunting guide
Woniya Thibeault 2 73 Ancestral skills teacher
Nathan Donnelly 3 72 Disaster preparedness instructor
Barry Karcher 4 69 Self-defense instructor
Nikki van Schyndel 5 52 Wilderness guide
Michelle Wohlberg 6 48 Homesteader
Brady Nicholls 7 32 SERE instructor
Ray Livingston 8 19 Search and rescue K9 handler
Donny Dust 9 8 Primitive technology instructor
Tim Backus 10 4 Hunting guide

The winner and the runner-up

Jordan Jonas shot a bull moose with his recurve bow about 20 days in, banked several hundred pounds of meat, and rode that caloric advantage all the way to day 77, killing a wolverine with his axe along the way. His post-show life has scaled up accordingly. As of mid-2026 he leads guided wilderness expeditions and hunts through his own outfit, runs an active YouTube channel, has sat for long interviews on major podcasts, and returned to the franchise for the Alone: The Skills Challenge spinoff.

Woniya Thibeault came agonizingly close, tapping out on day 73 after losing roughly a third of her body weight. Her redemption arc is one of the best in the show's history: she went on to win the Alone: Frozen spinoff at 50 days, becoming the first woman to win an Alone challenge, and wrote a memoir about her Season 6 run, Never Alone. She still teaches ancestral and survival skills.

The rest of the deep runs

Nathan Donnelly was on winning pace until his shelter burned down overnight in sub-zero temperatures on day 72, forcing him to wait outside for rescue at daybreak. Barry Karcher ground his way to day 69 before being medically evacuated for excessive weight loss. Nikki van Schyndel, the British Columbia wilderness guide, made 52 days before a low BMI ended her season, and homesteader Michelle Wohlberg reached day 48 before her own medical evacuation.

The early exits

Brady Nicholls, the Air Force SERE instructor from Texas, tapped at 32 days because he missed his family. Ray Livingston left on day 19, saying he had nothing left to give. Donny Dust, the primitive technology instructor, was evacuated with food poisoning on day 8, and Tim Backus, at 55 the oldest contestant of the season, broke his ankle and was pulled out on day 4.

Why this season still gets talked about

The moose changed how people think the game can be played. Before Jonas, Alone winners survived on fish, small game, and discipline; he proved a big-game strategy could work, and every archery-minded contestant since has been chasing that blueprint. Our winners page shows how his 77 days compares across all seasons, and if the Frozen spinoff mention caught your eye, the Alone: Frozen season page covers Woniya's win in full.
