How to Watch Alone in Order: Every Season and Spinoff

There are more Alone than a lot of people realize, and the numbering does not tell the whole story once you fold in the spinoffs and the Australian series. The good news is that every season stands on its own, with a fresh cast and a new location and no cliffhangers, so you can technically start anywhere. Watching in release order is still the best way to see the show get sharper: the locations turn harsher, the casting gets deeper, and the survival gets more sophisticated season over season.

The main US run, in order

The flagship History Channel series has run one season a year since 2015. Each is self-contained. A few landmarks worth knowing before you start: Season 4 was a team season, played in family pairs; Season 7 changed the format to a fixed 100-day threshold for a $1,000,000 prize instead of the usual $500,000 last-one-standing; and Season 13 is airing right now, so it has no winner yet. Where the spinoffs fit

Two spinoffs aired in 2022, in the gap between main seasons. Alone: Frozen is a shorter redemption-style event where returning contestants push for a 50-day cap on the Labrador coast; Woniya Thibeault took it. Alone: The Skills Challenge is a different animal, a studio-framed competition filmed at contestants' own home sites, and it crowns no single champion and awards no cash prize, so treat it as a bonus rather than part of the canon. History also aired a separate short spinoff, Alone: The Beast, in 2020, which this site does not track in its season data; it sits outside the main run.

Alone Australia

Alone Australia is a separate SBS production with its own numbering, and it is the same format transplanted to the southern hemisphere. It is worth watching, and you can slot it in after the US run or treat it as its own series. The prize is $250,000 AUD. Season 4 is announced and scheduled to premiere in mid-July 2026, filmed inside the Arctic Circle in Sápmi, Finland, which will be the coldest setting the Australian show has attempted.
