Spoiler note: this covers who won season 2, episode by episode, through the finale.
Season 2 returned the show to Vancouver Island with a bigger change than location: it's the first season to include women. Our source for this season flags its episode-by-episode tap-out mapping as incomplete, so the two exits described below are the ones it can confirm rather than a full order for all ten contestants.

Episodes 1-6: settling in, then a sudden exit
"Once More Unto the Breach" opens with the new cast, including the franchise's first women, making camp on Vancouver Island. The next four episodes track the season's early grind rather than single standout events: "The Knife's Edge" covers early tool and food mistakes compounding for some of the cast, "The Beasts of the Night" is built around predator activity turning sleep into a luxury, "Hunger's Grip" is where caloric math starts separating the long-haul threats from the short-timers, and "Storm Rising" follows a major coastal storm testing every shelter design. "Adrift" is the season's sharpest turn: Jose Martinez Amoedo, one of the strongest bushcrafters in the cast, capsizes his kayak and the resulting soaking ends his run, one of the most abrupt momentum swings in the show's history.
Episodes 7-13: winter closes in
"Trial By Fire" and "The Ascent" both cover the remaining field paying for earlier shortcuts, with fire management, food storage, and the choice between exploring for resources versus conserving energy. "The Madness" turns to the psychological side of the game as deep isolation starts warping time and mood, and "The Gamble" finds the remaining contestants making high-stakes calls about food, fuel, and shelter as winter approaches. "Winter's Fury" brings the next confirmed exit: Larry Roberts taps out after 64 days of grinding it out, setting up the final stretch. "Into the Abyss" covers the last survivors running on fumes in a pure attrition endgame, and the finale, "The End Game," ends with David McIntyre outlasting the field at 66 days to win the $500,000 prize, a run remembered for being built on a reliable fishing system rather than a big-game gamble.
For the exact gear behind that win, see everything David McIntyre carried to win season 2, and for his life after the show, including his death in November 2024, see our season 2 winner update. The season 2 hub has the full roster and results, and why fishing wins Alone and big game loses explains the strategy behind McIntyre's approach in more depth.
