Alone Season 4 Episode Guide: Every Episode, Recapped

2026-07-04

Spoiler note: this covers every episode of Season 4, including who won.

Season 4 is the outlier in the catalog: seven family pairs instead of ten solo contestants, filmed back in the same Quatsino Territory region as Season 1 and 2. It ran 10 competition episodes plus a retrospective special on History from June 15 to August 17, 2017.

Episode-by-episode

1. "Divide and Conquer." Seven two-person family teams are split up, one member dropped at a base camp and the other 10 miles away with only a compass bearing to reunite. Survival starts before the pairs even find each other.

2. "Hell on Earth." The hiking teammates fight through Vancouver Island's bush while their partners hold camp on dwindling energy, and some pairs are already fraying before they reunite.

3. "Margin of Error." Reunited teams learn that two mouths are harder to feed than one, with shared labor and doubled caloric need but no privacy to fall apart in.

4. "The Last Mile." The remaining linkups conclude as exhaustion sets in; the first successful team took eight days to reunite, and three teams never manage it at all before exiting.

5. "Double or Nothing." The Ribar cousins, Alex and Logan, exit after concluding they weren't mentally prepared for what the island demanded.

6. "Thicker Than Water." An ankle injury to Josh Richardson forces the father-son Richardson team out, the first pair eliminated by a single member's injury.

7. "Hooked." Fishing becomes the surviving teams' economic engine, but a lower-back injury to Shannon Bosdell ends the Bosdell brothers' run under the same one-out-both-out rule.

8. "Flare-Up." The Wilkes brothers, Chris and Brody, tap out together, pulled home by guilt over leaving family behind.

9. "My Brother's Keeper." The Whipples exit at day 49 when Brooke reaches empty, leaving two teams in the hunt.

10. "Flesh and Blood." The Brockdorffs bow out at day 74 after Pete's severe acid reflux tips a joint decision. Jim and Ted Baird take the win at 75 days, the only co-winners in franchise history, splitting the $500,000 prize.

11. "Tales From the Island." A retrospective special of unaired moments and behind-the-scenes material, not a competition episode.

Reading the data

The episode file's own confidence note flags this as the team season, so tap-outs are logged per pair rather than per person, and exit day counts are cross-checked against the normalized contestant data where Wikipedia doesn't state them directly. Several early-episode day ranges (2 through 9) also aren't pinned to exact days in the source material, only the general episode order, so this guide sticks to what each synopsis actually states rather than guessing at missing dates.

For the full contestant roster and how the pairs format compares to a normal season, see the Season 4 hub and our full rules breakdown. Pete and Sam Brockdorff remain the closest runners-up in the show's history at one day back, and if you want to see how this format stacks up against the rest of the franchise, every Alone season ranked covers where it lands.
